Prof. Dr. Frank Scholwin (Chair)
Professor Dr.-Ing. Frank Scholwin is an environmental engineer who obtained his doctorate in biological waste treatment at the University of Rostock and the Bauhaus University in Weimar. Between 2003 and 2010 he conducted and coordinated biogas research and consulting activities at the German center for bioenergy research (Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gGmbH). In 2011 and 2012 he was that organization’s Scientific Director. He has been an Honorary Professor of Biogas/Bioenergy at the University of Rostock since 2008. He is the founder of the Institute for Biogas, Waste Management and Energy and is often consulted for research projects as well as implementing innovation in the field.
Dr. Jörgen Held
Dr. Jörgen Held is the Managing Director, founder and owner of Renewable Energy Technology International AB and the Executive Managing Director of the Baltic Energy Innovation Centre. Dr. Held has a long record within the energy sector as the former managing director of the Swedish Gas Technology Centre, the head of research at CEDER/CIEMAT in Spain and research manager at the Swedish Energy Agency. Dr. Held participates in, and coordinates R&D projects on regional, national and European level as well as providing independent consultancy. He is the initiator and chairman of the International Conference on Renewable Energy Gas Technology, REGATEC, member of the editorial board of the Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery Journal and the Scientific Advisory Council of the European Biogas Association.
Marcel Hueberli holds the position as Sales Manager of Biogasregister International AG. As co-founder of GasDirekt AG he has several years’ experience in the international trading of Biogas and its certification. Currently he is co-responsible for the development of the first international Biogas registers.
